Sony Reveal 160GB PS3
Sony announced the highest capacity hard drive in a PS3 to date - 160GB. This PS3 model will be released in North America later this November in a limited edition bundle with the game, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and will also come feature a PLAYSTATION Network Voucher for PAIN and a DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller. The 160GB PS3 will have an SRP of $499.99. I wonder ... when will Sony offer upgrades to existing customers. |

Pirates & Game Producer Exchange Ideas
Cliff Harris, an independent game developer with Positech Games decide to open up a dialogue with game pirates to figure out just why people actually pirate games. It seems that there was quite a deluge of mail and Cliff seems to have paid attention. The main areas of contention appear to be - Games are too expensive. The quality of games is all over the place. DRM hurts legitimate customers. Positech responded by dropping DRM and lowering prices ... it'll be interesting to see how the pirates respond and if sales actually go up ... Sony Reveals Upcoming First Line Titles for PS3 and PSP
Sony has revealed the list of titles they have planned for the PS3 and PSP for this year and early 2009. Zune XNA Games Preview In May?
Microsoft are aiming for the first community technology preview of their XNA games for the Zune to be released in May. Zune games are able to support ad-hoc wireless play, supporting up to eight players, however, the devices don't currently have hardware 3D acceleration. However Microsoft already have several proof of concept games up and running. |

N-Gage Gaming Launched For Phones
Nokia have finally launched their N-Gage mobile games service. The service will allow Nokia users to download some cool games for their mobile phones. Currently only the Nokia N81, N81 8GB, N82, N95 and N95 8GB phones will be supported. But this will be extended to the N73, N93 and N93i in short order. Nokia are allowing users to try all of the games before buying and games will cost between £4.75 and £8. Multiplayer Gaming will be supported through the N-Gage Arena community and they will be able to join forums, use live chat and take part in tournaments. The crop of games will include EA Sports’ FIFA 08, Brain Challenge and Asphalt 3: Street Rules, World Series of Poker Pro Challenge, Hooked On: Creatures of the Deep and System Rush: Evolution. Soon to be followed by Tetris and The Sims 2 Pets, Block Breaker Deluxe, Dogz, Snakes Subsonic, Space Impact: Kappa Base and Mile High Pinball. Visit the N-Gage Website for more information. |

Direct X 10 Put To The Test
Twitch Guru have put Direct X 10 to the test using Lost Planet on a Dell XPS running Vista. In their Test they compared the same game on the Dell XPS with Vista against a similarly configured Windows XP system with DX 9. Dragon's Lair Becomes First Blu-ray Game
Talk about a trip down memory lane. Anyone who lived through the eighties and played arcade games will remember this one. The cartoony sword and sorcery video game that looked like a Disney feature is going to be coming to a Blu-ray player near you. In fact any Blu-ray player which supports Blu-ray Java or BD-J, should be able to play it. Playstation Home Revealed
Second Life beware, Sony are planning an invasion of your virtual world. Ok so it's not quite an invasion but a foray into the concept of virtual interaction. I haven't as yet played with Second Life, nor do I plan to, but I know a few people who enjoy interacting in this virtual world.
